Expressive, fierce, vibrant and bold- Lady Jday’s work exemplifies a strong commitment to recognizing women and their limitless talents.
Much more than a mere directive, engagement and the fight for women’s rights are fully integrated into Lady Jday’s paintings. She uses her medium to amplify a call for social justice. Activism is both a core principle and governing approach to her artistic practice, which advocates for women from all walks of life.
Whether these women are depicted in strength or victim to violence and oppression, Lady Jday employs every brush stroke to stand up for them. This is especially realized in her color-saturated portraits, which combine pop art with street style techniques to create larger than life testaments to the vivid energy, happiness and life embodied by the women her work represents.
Originally from Bordeaux, France and currently based in New York City, Lady Jday brings a global perspective to her portrayals of strong women. She has been featured at international street art performances in Paris, Dubai, New-York, Los Angeles, Bruxelles, Seoul, Busan, Beijing, London and San Francisco.
